Mark Doherty serves as the Vice President of Cultivation Technologies at urban-gro, an agricultural solutions and technology company serving commercial cannabis cultivators throughout North America. Mark combines his extensive background in commercial-scale aquaponic farming with a personally-inspired passion for cannabis advocacy and access to further urban-gro's mission to helping cultivators achieve sustained scalability with innovative technologies that drive down cost, increase economic yield, and reduce environmental impact. Mark earned his BS in Business Administration from SUNY Polytechnic Institute and holds an MBA from the State University of New York.
Mark Doherty got involved in the cannabis industry when his wife was diagnosed with cancer in New York. At the time, there was not a medical program for cannabis, so Mark had to do what most caregivers did at the time: find cannabis in the black market that would help his wife deal with effects of cancer treatment. The good news is his wife beat cancer. Borne of this experience, Mark entered the cannabis market as the director of sales for the Eastern United States for urban-gro.
